How do I get started?
Give me a call to discuss what you'd like to accomplish. If you would like to meet me in person, we can schedule a 30 minute, no charge, no obligation visit where I can get a better sense of your goals and you can get a feeling for my style. I feel it is important that you are comfortable with and trust your organizer. If, after this "meet and greet" appointment, you choose to hire me, we will schedule a time to get started, and work together to develop a plan to achieve your goals. I typically work in three hour segments, however, schedules can be customized for your convenience.
How long will it take?
That will depend on what you want to accomplish. Do you want to address a small area for a quick fix or do you want to attack the whole house for long-term changes? We will develop a plan that will maximize your results.
Should I straighten things up before you come?
Not particularly. It is important for me to see where your bottlenecks are.
Will you make me throw everything away?
Absolutely not! Organization is about you being in charge of your possessions and not the other way around. We will work together to find solutions. That may include some purging but only if you agree to it.
Should I buy supplies?
Absolutely not! Let's first figure out what you want to do, how much you will be discarding, and how you want to organize the rest. Buying the wrong supplies can just create more clutter.
Can I work on my own?
Of course! Thats an excellent way to keep your costs down. Periodic meetings with "homework" in between can be very cost-effective. A lot of people can't or don't want to do that and want the organizer beside them. But if you can take some guidance and really process your possessions, you can see quick progress. But you don't have to. I can accommodate your style. I can work side by side with you or give suggestions that you implement between sessions . . . whatever works best for you.
Do you charge for travel?
Not if it is within a
half hour drive.
Do you work weekends and evenings?
I prefer to work days. I only
work weekends on special projects with long-term clients.
We will discuss fees in our initial phone consultation. As I mentioned earlier I work in three-hour segment. Fees are payable at the end of each session.
